Because these tools begin with real-life challenges, they help you reach insights that are more meaningful, relevant, and actionable.

Upon completion of each course, you will receive the entire step-by-step framework in PDF format, so that you can repeat it on your own whenever something comes up in life. You are also welcome to repeat courses or continue monthly guided sessions for as long as you would like.

  6. As life brings along new challenges, you can continue to return to these tools to find alignment — either on your own or in additional private coaching sessions.

The River Method

Be a River, Not a Lake

The River Method is the heart of Tools for Connection because it can be applied to a broad range of challenges. It uses the full TFC framework, helping you move toward conscious, aligned action.

In this course, you will learn how to listen proactively to your emotions, process them safely, and let them move through rather than remain stuck, as if they were water flowing down a river. This will help take the fear out of feeling "negative" or uncomfortable emotions because you will have a safe framework to turn to when strong emotions or difficult events come up.

  • After each session, you will receive a session summary, outlining what was covered, and also any tools that you have completed.

Body Integration

Discover what you are holding in your body, including tension, trauma, and emotions. Use physical awareness as a starting point for release and healing.

Instead of working from a place of shame or social pressure, this tool helps you to be comfortable with your body, just as it is, and to see both the pain that it’s holding and what it’s capable of.

You will need enough prior knowledge of yoga or a similar practice, to be able to choose and perform your own poses. Learning yoga is outside the scope of this course.

Relationship Bridge

Relationship Bridge is not focused on conflict resolution, but about discerning the capacity of the relationship. The goal is to deepen your understanding of the relationship so that you can live intentionally. You will bring clarity to what is hurting the relationship, learn what value the relationship brings to you, and what value you bring to it. You will also find more clarity on how you would like to work to repair the relationship, the things that are worth working on, and the things that you want to let go of.

Flashback Routine

About:
This routine can be learned and then used during a CPTSD flashback, during a fight or flight stress response, or to support emotional regulation during overwhelm. It is loosely adapted from Pete Walker’s Complex PTSD: From Surviving to Thriving.

A CPTSD flashback is a sudden experience of feeling pulled back into trauma in the present, as if it is happening again now. This may involve vivid memories or physical fear, but it can also be an emotional flashback — a wave of terror, shame, helplessness, or despair that feels immediate, even without a clear visual memory.

Fight or flight may feel like becoming highly alert, agitated, confrontational, or like needing to leave quickly. It can also involve a racing heart, rapid breathing, and tense muscles.

The Flashback Routine Course Includes:

  • Ten weekly 50-minute sessions to learn and practice the Flashback Routine.

  • After each session, you will receive a session summary, outlining what was covered, and also any tools that you have completed.

  • Upon completion, you will receive the full Flashback Routine framework in PDF format, so that you can use it right away when you need it.
